Background And Meaning of This Project

       Colorless, transparent, high-quality and super-thin glass is not only the major material of making ITO film, but also one of the important and irreplaceable materials. Super-thin (under 1.1mm) glass is mainly used from liquid screen in space flight, military and industrial industries, to electronic digital control board in laptop, computer, mobile phone and game player. As the demand for super-thin glass becomes bigger and bigger, the demand for 0.7mm super-thin glass grows by 30% every year at the price that is twice more than that of 1.1mm super-thin glass. Glasses that are under 0.7mm(including 1mm) are not only the blank space in China, but also the watershed of TFT-LCD glass industry. At present, only USA, Japan, Belgium and other few countries have the capacity of manufacturing glass. The price is four times as that of traditional. It is the product of high technology, and it has high additional value.

       The carry out of this project will promote the development of the comprehensive utilization of Donghai’s silicon, and technology level and additional value of silicon producing.

Market Forecast

       The domestic demand for super-thin glass each year is 4million square meter, which are all imported abroad, costing 20million $ every year. At present, as the development of electronic equipment and further process of flat glass, as well as the rapid growth of high-tech industry by 30% every year, the demand for liquid screen, and super-flat, super-thin glass well grow accordingly.

Investment Budget, Scale, and the Construction Period

       The budget of this project is 150million RMB, which will be used for workshop construction, equipment purchase and technology research and development.

       It will take two years to construct. After that, the yearly output of super-thin glass will be about 54.4million square meter.

Economic Profit

       This project will realize the yearly production value of 652.8million RMB and gross sale of 600million RMB, with the tax of 164.4million RMB.
